Molasses Sugar Cookies
				(From Our December 2018 Newsletter - Grandma C.)
				
Ingredients
				
					- ¾ cup shortening
 
					- 1 cup sugar
 
					- ¼ cup molasses
 
					- 1 Egg
 
					- 2 tsp baking soda
 
					- ½ tsp salt
 
					- ½ tsp ground clove
 
					- ½ tsp ground ginger
 
					- 1 tsp cinnamon
 
					- 2 cup flour
 
				
			
				Melt shortening over low heat.  Let cool.  Add sugar, molasses and egg, beat well.  Sift all dry ingredients and add to mixture, mix well.  Chill for 1 hour.
				Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar, then place on a greased cookie sheet (unless it´s a non-stick sheet).
				Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.
				Yield: Approx. 2 dozen cookies.
				
*Do not overbake!  Cookies will get crunchy on the bottom if you let them bake too long.
